Handcrafted by Bruce Schindler of Chasing Mammoths in Skagway, Alaska. These earrings feature natural Alaskan gold nuggets with a frosted matte finish — preserving the organic texture and form of creek gold exactly as it was found.

Each nugget is unique in shape, weight, and color — no two pairs are identical. The raw gold retains its natural surface character: the pits, ridges, and undulations formed by centuries of water and geological pressure. The frosted matte finish enhances these natural textures rather than polishing them away.

Mounting: Set on 14K gold stud posts with 14K friction backs for secure, comfortable wear. The 14K posts provide the structural strength needed for daily wear, while the raw nuggets remain untouched and unrefined.

Gold purity: The nuggets are natural placer gold — unrefined and unalloyed. Depending on the creek source, purity ranges from .830 to .880 fine (approximately 20-21 karat). Because raw gold is softer than factory-hardened alloys, Bruce works it into these simpler, elegant forms — just as ancient goldsmiths did.
