A Transatlantic Collaboration

The reverse of this coin was designed by American artist Beth Zaiken, working in partnership with the Royal Mint’s Product Design Team. The result unites two national emblems — the British lion and the American eagle — not in opposition, but joined in harmony. It is a rare instance of a Royal Mint issue entrusted to an American creative vision, giving the piece a genuinely transatlantic authorship to match its transatlantic subject matter.

The obverse features the effigy of King Charles III, sculpted by Martin Jennings.

Proof coinage represents the Royal Mint’s highest standard of production: hand-selected blanks, specially polished dies, and multiple strikes to achieve the deep mirror fields and sharply frosted relief that define the format.
