A Modern Vision by American Artist Emily Damstra

The reverse was designed by Emily Damstra, an American artist chosen by the Royal Mint for her ability to bring classical subjects to life with contemporary power. Damstra’s Britannia stands strong against rough and churning seas — waters that speak to the turbulence and uncertainty of the modern world, and to the resolve required to face it. It is a design that honors tradition while refusing to be contained by it.
