I'm Stephen Pfeil, founder of Global Coin, and today I'm sharing something that, by all rights, shouldn't exist. We call it The Impossible Set — and when you understand what went into assembling it, you'll understand why.
This is a complete American Silver Eagle collection spanning from 1986 to 2026. Every single coin is graded NGC MS70, flawless. Every single coin is hand-signed by Anna Escobedo Cabral, 42nd Treasurer of the United States. Every single coin bearing our exclusive Modern Numismatic Masterpieces label. Forty-one coins. Zero compromise.
To our knowledge, a handful of complete sets exist in the entire world, and this set is the only one with every coin signed by Anna Cabral on the MNM label. This may be the only one.
Why "Impossible"?
Let me be direct about what makes this set so extraordinary. A complete Silver Eagle set in MS69 is an achievement. In MS70, it becomes something else entirely — a statistical improbability turned tangible.
Here's the challenge most people don't appreciate: the American Silver Eagle has been struck at multiple facilities over four decades — Philadelphia, San Francisco, and West Point. Early-year MS70 examples from the late 1980s and early 1990s are vanishingly rare. Grading standards in those years were less forgiving, survival rates in perfect condition are minuscule, and population reports confirm what collectors already know — some dates in MS70 barely exist.
Now add a second layer of impossibility: every coin must also carry the authentic hand signature of Anna Escobedo Cabral. Anna doesn't sign coins on demand. Her autographed labels are produced in limited quantities through NGC, and matching every year of a 40-year run to her signature requires patience, connections, and — frankly — a fair amount of luck.
Then add the third layer: our exclusive Modern Numismatic Masterpieces label. The MNM designation is reserved for coins we believe represent the pinnacle of modern U.S. coinage. It is not a label we apply casually. Every coin in this set carries it.
Three conditions. Forty-one coins. Four decades. That's why we call it The Impossible Set.
The Significance of MS70
For those less familiar with the grading scale, MS70 represents absolute perfection in a Mint State coin — no contact marks, no hairlines, no imperfections of any kind, even under 5x magnification. It is the highest grade a coin can receive from NGC or any major grading service.
The difference between MS69 and MS70 is not cosmetic — it's financial. A single-point grade difference can mean thousands of dollars on key dates. Across an entire 40-year set, the cumulative premium of perfect MS70 grades over MS69 is staggering. But more than the money, MS70 represents a standard. It says: this coin is as close to the moment it left the die as physically possible.
Achieving that standard on one coin is noteworthy. Achieving it across every year from 1986 to 2026 is a feat that borders on the unrepeatable.
Anna Escobedo Cabral: The Signature That Unifies
Anna Escobedo Cabral served as the 42nd Treasurer of the United States from 2005 to 2009, overseeing both the U.S. Mint and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Her signature appeared on U.S. currency during her tenure, and she remains one of the most respected figures in the numismatic community.
Anna also wrote the foreword to my book, Modern Numismatic Masterpieces, lending her perspective on the artistry and significance of American coinage. Her connection to this program is personal, and her willingness to sign NGC labels adds a dimension of provenance that cannot be manufactured or replicated.
A hand-signed label from a former U.S. Treasurer transforms a graded coin from a collectible into a historical artifact. When that signature appears on every coin in a 40-year set — all in perfect condition — you're looking at something that transcends traditional collecting. This is a legacy piece.
The Modern Numismatic Masterpieces Label
The MNM label is exclusive to Global Coin. It represents our highest conviction — the coins we believe define modern American numismatics. Not every MS70 earns this designation. Not every signed coin qualifies. The MNM label is the intersection of grade, provenance, and historical significance.
Having the entire Impossible Set unified under this label creates a visual and intellectual cohesion that elevates the collection as a whole. These aren't 41 individual coins — they're a single, unified statement about what's possible when you refuse to settle.

Why This Set Cannot Be Replicated
I want to be clear about something: this set would be impossible to recreate. It cannot be compared to a "similar" offering because no similar offering exists. The probability of assembling another complete MS70 date-run with matched Cabral signatures on MNM labels is, for all practical purposes, zero.
Some of the early dates in MS70 with this specific label and signature combination may exist in single-digit or even one-of-a-kind populations. The set is not valuable because we say it is. It's valuable because the math says it shouldn't exist.
At Global Coin, we don't chase trends. We curate collections that tell stories and preserve history. The Impossible Set is the culmination of decades of relationships, expertise, and an unwillingness to accept "close enough."
