No. We do not purchase coins from the general public.
Authenticity and trust are staples in our industry, and we want to make sure each and every person feels secure in their purchase with us and knows they're guaranteed the coin they paid for. Our vendors, whom we've worked with for years, have been vetted by both us and the US Mint as verified dealers. While there are multiple grading services out there, we only work with the best of the best, and that's PCGS and NGC. Neither companies sell coins, so they don't have a bias towards specific grades and both have been trusted by the industry for decades. As for authenticity, their special holders contain a hologram and barcode that you can use to look up the exact coin on either the PCGS or the NGC website. If anyone were to tamper with the seal on the case, the special holographic foil inside would be destroyed. This encased verification of authenticity is even more secure than the traditional certificate of authenticity and guarantees you're receiving the correct coin.

Global Coin offers these items as collectibles to be enjoyed for their history, artistic beauty and often limited availability. Global Coin expresses no opinion on the soundness as an investment of coins, medal or other numismatic items. We are not investment advisers. Market price may fluctuate with market conditions, the condition of the item, content value, grade, demand and supply, and other things. Past performance is not a guarantee of future potential values. Rare coins, souvenirs, mementos, and sometimes medal, often cannot be sold quickly. Grades and descriptions of rare coins are opinions, not statements of fact or guarantees, and are based on standards and interpretations that can and do change over time. This is why Global Coin does not have a warranty. We rely on the opinions of independent coins grading services of NGC and PCGS.

Absolutely not. Strangely enough, an uncleaned piece is much more valuable than a cleaned one, as collectors will expect the coins appearance to change with age. The coin can also be damaged if it's cleaned, making it much less valuable.
We provide free information on our blog and social media pages to help you learn. You can also call us at (844) 595-9599 and one of our coin experts would be happy to help!
Proof, or P, is one of the manufacturer's process of making the coin. Most coins are done in “bullion” version for use in day-to-day commerce and to store precious metals. Proofs are typically made for collectors and struck on polished blanks so they are reflective. Also, they're made in very small mintage numbers and struck 2 to 3 times instead of once so the relief stands out.
Mint state, or MS, is the “bullion” version of the coin that are typically mass produced. These can be extremely rare in high conditions.
This is the same thing. NGC, PCGS, and other grading services use different ways to describe the same coins.
