The Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005 includes a clear prohibition: no living president may appear on a U.S. coin. Many in Congress assumed that meant President Trump could never appear on official U.S. currency during his lifetime.
They were wrong. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, acting under authority granted by the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act of 2020, authorized a special Semiquincentennial dollar to commemorate America's 250th anniversary — with President Donald J. Trump on the obverse.
The coin was struck at the Philadelphia Mint and dual-dated 1776–2026. It is legal tender. It will never be placed into circulation at your bank. And the U.S. Mint has already sold through its entire available allocation.
Global Coin has secured a supply of uncirculated rolls directly from authorized channels — but our supply is finite. When it's gone, it's gone.
